Walker Grant Middle School, in Fredericksburg, is implementing the Virginia Demonstration Project (VDP) for the third consecutive school year. This program has challenged over 450 students to use advanced technology and use math and science skills to find probable solutions to a landmine scenario. In the Landmines module, a minefield at sea has been disrupted by a tsunami that has swept mines onto shore. Some mines are visible, and others are hidden under sand and debris. Robots help mitigate the disaster by locating landmines and delivering humanitarian aid.
